Synergy in Action is a Playback Theater company based in Washington DC under the direction of Kimberly Rattley. Synergy in Action will hold a casting call on Nov. 17, 7-8pm and 8-9pm in Silver Spring, MD for its upcoming performance season.

Come join in the fun as we explore improvisational movement and theatre forms as tools for healing and community transformation.  Grounded in methods primarily from Contact Improvisation and Playback Theatre, we will delve into several key forms that will help us tell our personal stories and explore our common stories.  At the heart of this practice is a physical kind of exegesis, literally rolling our bodies into common sacred text to uncover new understandings of how the Spirit is speaking to us here and now.  Participants will leave with specific techniques for generating material i

The workshop digs in to your own stories with the powerful improvisational forms of Playback Theatre.  In Playback, participants tell their own stories and watch them played back on the spot by an ensemble of actors. In this workshop you will have many chances to tell, to act, to watch and to accompany with music. You will have a chance to build community connections, learn listening skills, have fun and much more.  Sampler 2.0 begins the second year of Healing York Playback with a focus on community building through this unique art.
