| In a diverse and historic town, we may see our neighbors, but do we hear them? When do we tell our stories? And how do we learn about and appreciate our living history - not just what's on placards?
This unique performance will gather audience stories to weave together, on the spot, a community story like no other. With the River Crossing Playback Theatre ensemble, you will be invited to tell stories and hear stories, to bring you closer to the place you call home.
River Crossing Playback Theatre is an ensemble trained to build community through the dramatic portrayal of real-life stories. Through the magic of Playback Theatre, audiences participate in creating a new story that recognizes and celebrates both our differences and our common ground. Formed in 2007, the ensemble draws from members in Lancaster and York Counties.
Playback Theatre is a simple improvisational form in which members of the audience tell stories and watch them played back on the spot. As the stories come alive on stage, audience and players become entwined in a community dialogue that is both uniquely personal and powerfully universal. Often performed and planned around carefully chosen themes, the performances and workshops of Playback Theatre can provide a vital catalyst to both challenging and celebratory situations for community groups, religious groups, professional groups, family gatherings and more. | Location Union Meeting House: 80 N.
